I grew up never being exposed to Philippines media, so I never saw Filipinos on-screen. You’d expect that I’d see Filipino on-screen here in the states, with us supposedly being a melting pot of cultures, right? Wrong. I’ve grown up in America all my life never seeing someone like me represented on TV, billboards, magazines, or any other media for that matter.

I made this video to celebrate the 2,700 views (update it is now 3,800 views) on the “Till I Met You” Reaction video. Filipinos go ham on teleseryes, so I thought it would be to talk about the entertainment part of Philippines culture today. Because of the reaction video, I’m thinking of making more review/reaction videos for more teleseryes. What do you think? The hit Filipino Teleserye “Born For You” had their finale episode yesterday! I’m so sad it’s come to an end after 65 episodes, but I’m happy the show made my love for love team #ElNella grow. I can’t wait to see them in another show soon! To celebrate the great show, I did a one-take ukulele cover of the theme song, “Born For You” (Originally by David Pomeranz).
