Ya girl, Rachel Bulosan, is back! This video is longer than my usual videos because it’s a simple sit-down, chit-chat type of video while I do my makeup. — If you want to see the entire list of makeup used in this video, read below.
Outfit of the Night: Black Dress from Forever 21, Heels from Guess, Earrings from Francesca’s.
It’s common for cruises to have an elegant evening where you can dress up, have fancy drinks, and celebrate. Celebrations can include anything from the Captain’s Welcome Dinner – which is what we are dressed up for in this blog – to holiday celebrations to themed nights to farewell events. Generally if you are taking a 2 to 5-day cruise, you can expect at least one nice evening to get primmed and proper. If you take a cruise that is six days or longer, expect that be graced with at least two awesome nights of playing dress up.
The moment has come my friends! I finally reached my dream hair color.
I’ve always wanted either blue or silver hair, but mostly blue. And this morning while I was at the salon, I kept asking myself if I want blue or silver, silver or blue, or both. I asked on my Twitter for an answer and the majority voted for blue! Funny thing is, I ended up getting both blue and silver anyway. It is mostly blue, but once it starts fading the layer of silver tones will start showing up later.
If someone made me chose what I enjoy doing more between hair or makeup, I will always chose hair. I was that child in elementary school who loved to braid and make quirky hairstyles. I was that experimental teenager who was unafraid of cutting her hair super short because I understood that it would grow back. I was also that rebel daughter who colored, cut, and changed her hair so much that her mom and aunts would worry that all my hair would fall out because of how much was done to it. I’ve always have been into hair and I always will be into hair. So I’m super excited to announce what I’ve been doing for the last year.
Let’s talk about beauty — more specifically, let’s talk about the standards of beauty in the Philippines. Filipinas and filipinos come in many shapes, colors, and sizes. I’m here to do what I do best, challenge them. I believe all forms are maganda (beautiful). Hope you enjoy this video about what the filipina standards of beauty are, how I dealt with them during my childhood, and how it’s changing today. In the end, we, as individuals, define what’s beautiful.
I thought it would be fun to share what I bought in New York! Everything you see in the video are souvenirs for my family. My sister collects “I ❤ [insert state here]” shirts. So, the bigger shirt is for her and the smaller one is for her daughter/my niece, Jenelle. The little taxi cab is for my brother. He enjoys his hot wheels, but I thought he should have an authentic-looking taxi that actually propels forward when you slide the car back. (Most toy cars nowadays do not have that feature.
It is that time of year again! What’s in my bag?! I am such a nosy person. I love watching these type of videos when other YouTubers make them. So, here’s my bag update / what’s in my bag video.
