My Half-Year Anniversary in Corporate

I started this blog simply talking about my day, but it turned into a whole gratitude post about where I am in my life and the fact that it’s my seven month anniversary at the company I work with. In my eyes, seven months is something to celebrate — considering I’ve worked with some tough professional situations over the last few years. For seven months, I’ve osmosis’ed into this global engineering company and made a home for myself… so, yes, I’m damn proud.

Perks of Being an Event Photographer

Do what you love, and do it often. 

I love photography. I’m not the best at it, but I’m always learning and improving. In the beginning, when I started doing photography in 2010, I never realized how many niches/specializations there are in the field. The niches range from portrait photography to wedding photography, to sports photography and social media photography, to fashion and lifestyle photography, and to magazine editorial photography. The list is endless. After seven years of being in the game, and dabbling in all of the above, I realized that event photography is one of my favorites. So, let’s talk about the perks and what it’s like to be an event photographer!

Reflecting on New York

During my time in New York, I had the honor of meeting MANY intelligent young activists. Two from my group noticed how the idea of “feminism” was taboo at their high schools and sexism is alive and well. They started this petition to require that classes add feminism to the curriculum.
